On the road again

We had a great trip to the East Coast. Evan was fantastic on the plane, we got to see family and friends, it was great. We did sleep on a different bed every night, for a grand total of 7 beds in 7 nights, which is exhausting. But it was good to see everybody.
And now, only 5 days later, we're hitting the road again. This time we're going to San Juan Island, to see if we can find a place to rent. And really, to enjoy a couple of days in what will be our new town. We're very excited!

But in these couple of days new things have happened with Evan. First of all, a trip to a place with a 3-hour time difference was bound to have some repercussions. Evan was sleeping 6-7 hours straight every night before the trip. During the trip and the days after: only 5 hours. I know that's not a big difference, but it was still a step back for us. But being that he is such a great baby, he's now back to normal. In fact, he slept 7.5 hours last night. Yay!!

Of course, it helps that he's been taking very short naps during the day. He was taking 2 good 2-3 hour naps before the trip: one in the morning, one in the afternoon. Well, not lately. He has been taking short 30-45 min naps throughout the day, between feedings, cranky pants time, and happy time. And he's been feeding every 1.5-2 hours. My theory is that he's having a bit of a growth spurt, but it could very well be that his schedule is still messed up from the trip. We shall see.

Another awesome development: Saturday afternoon he gave me the most amazing laughter. He has been smiling, cooing and making all sorts of sweet noises while smiling for weeks, but this was different, this was a hahaha laughter. So adorable!! He did it again yesterday afternoon, we had ourselves a laugh fest, because we were both laughing out loud!

Alright, time to start thinking about packing. Wish us luck!
